The Witcher Movie In The Works

Hmm…could be good.

If you're a fan of CD Projekt Red's The Witcher series, you might be interested to know that a movie based on the acclaimed games is in the works.

Bear in mind that the games are actually based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski, so the film might take more from the prose than the interactive entertainment. At any rate, Polish company Platige Films will work with American film production company The Sean Daniel Company ("The Mummy") and the movie is set for 2017. Platige is no stranger to video games, as they produced that awesome trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt called "The Trail," and they've also created cinematics for Halo 5: Guardians .

Directing will be Tomasz Baginski, who got an Oscar nomination for the 2002 animated film, "The Cathedral," and Hollywood veteran Thania St. John ("Grimm," "Chicago Fire," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") will handle the scriptwriting. No actors have been confirmed yet but we wonder who they'll get to play Geralt of Rivia, who will be part of the movie… The women will pose another tough casting challenge, in my estimation.
