DICE Confirms New Characters, Modes For Star Wars: Battlefront

A couple weeks ago, a Reddit user dug into some game files for Star Wars: Battlefront and found evidence of three more playable characters.

Well, now they're official, along with three more gameplay modes.

First up, the characters: Han Solo, Princess Leia and Emperor Palpatine will indeed be playable in the hotly anticipated multiplayer shooter, and you can read all about them here . Obviously, each character has a very distinct set of skills, which, if used properly, will undoubtedly give him or her the edge during combat.

As for the new modes, there are Heroes vs. Villains, Battles and Training Missions, and DICE goes into some descriptive detail . Heroes vs. Villains is just what it sounds like; three heroes will square off against three villains and the rest of each team will be comprised of Rebel or Imperial troopers. Basically, it's a 6-on-6 battle and the matches should be "quick and intense."

Battles lets you play against a side of AI-controlled enemies or against another human character, so matches can be 1-on-1 or two humans fighting alongside AI foes that also fight against each other. The objective is to find tokens that drop when enemies are defeated; the first side that gets 100 points wins. As for Training Missions, that is also just what it sounds like and there will be five tutorial Missions in all. These can be tackled solo or with a friend online or via split-screen co-op.

Now, here's the complete list of modes that have been announced for Star Wars: Battlefront , which is set to launch on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
