Sony has announced May 2016's PlayStation Plus free games lineup, confirming that six games are coming for subscribers across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. As usual, each platform receives at least two titles, with some games available across multiple platforms. That means four of the six games work on PlayStation 4 in May, but none of the other games this month are available beyond their specific platform.
On PS4 this month there’s Table Top Racing: World Tour, a follow-up to the mobile and PS Vita racing game, which will be debuting on PS4 as part of PlayStation Plus. Next is Tropico 5 from Haemimont Games. As a bonus in May, indie action racer Switch Galaxy Ultra will also be available on PS4. It’s one of the PS Vita selections for May, but luckily it happens to work on PS4 too.
Here's the full list of the free games.

These games will be available next week on May 3. Be sure to go grab April 2016's free games before it's too late. The only game that I'm interested for May 2016's lineup is God of War: Ghost of Sparta, which I haven't got to finish on my PSP. I wish Sony would include more triple AAA games for PS Plus subscribers in the future months. But since I have a lot of games that I'm playing right now, plus there are only 2 more weeks to go before Uncharted 4 arrives, I think I'm ok with just getting God of War: Ghost of Sparta as a free game for the month of May. How about you guys?

Do you remember…
…when PS Plus games were good?
Do you remember…
…when PS Plus meant something?
Do you remember…
…when older AAA titles peppered the PS Plus line up?
Do you remember?
Phil Collins did. 😉
How could I ever forget…
I agree with you. I was going to say this is a super weak PSplus line up. The last couple months have been pretty bust lately.
Take. Take me home!

Well that's a whole lot of meh. Ghost of Sparta would be worth a download, but I played it back when it first came out on PSP and don't really care to go through it again.
I guess now that we have to have a Plus subscription to play online Sony doesn't care so much about making the subscription appealing. People are paying for it regardless of the Plus content…
But, but…cloud saves and rest mode downloads… 😉
Admittedly, I am a big fan of cloud saves 🙂
Such generic games, plus as been lately worth only for online play, which I only use on SFV (tbh I'm forced because of the lack of SP modes) and From Software games Bloodborne/Dark souls III(which are the only games I love going online), some guy told me Sony was planning to give us an option of online play for a year for 20 bucks, I hope it's true Plus as not much value.
It hurts them much gave us one of those remastered with trophies PS2 titles?
Plus isn't required or mandatory for online play. FFXIV is an MMORPG, you can't get much more dependent on online play than that, and it doesn't require PS Plus.
I think that Sony gives devs the choice, if they want to implement their own game servers and such, then Plus is not required, if they decide to throw in with Sony for game servers and other services then PS Plus is needed.
Just another note, the text and voice chat functionality, game streaming etc are not dependent on Plus either, as far as I know.
Holy bad
To be completely honest if Sony said they would give me $50 and all I had to do was play those games I would kindly refuse the offer.
I remember the good old days, when people complained about AAA titles like Arkham City, Bioshock 2 and Infinite, and others – because they were so old, anyone who wanted them had played them already. Even I, who only buy those kinds of games when they're cheap at least a year after they were released, had played 2 of those 3 titles before they hit Plus. Ah, nostalgia.
Now we complain…about indie titles that are so old, anyone who wanted them has played them already! To be fair, we had a release day title last month, that I still haven't done much with, but it looks like it has possibilities.
Personally, I'm looking forward to Table Top Racing – haven't had many driving games in Plus, especially for the PS4 (I have SUCH mixed feelings about Drive Club that I don't want to talk about it).
Making PSN pay to play is what killed meaningful or worthwhile PS Plus games.
What used to be the primary lure of the service has now become an appreciable appetizer because you're now a dependent.
It's easier and more fun being a fan of an underdog platform. Sony tried extra hard to give you incentive to go with PS3.

If you have a PS4 and a PS3 both with the same PSPLUS account, can you download the freebies on both consoles (with only that single account)?
Tropico 5 is a fun game, i bought it when it came and still play it from time to time. Atleast now i'll be able to get the few online trophies and grab the platinum.

Yes you can grab all of the free games if you have all the platforms and are using the same account.
Thanks! Time to undust the ps3!
