For the record, Activision hasn't formally announced anything concerning this year's Call of Duty effort.
However, that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from churning, especially after a Reddit user apparently stumbled on the title of the fresh installment.
Perhaps appropriately, the title is "Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare," as the Reddit member discovered on the PlayStation Store. He found the title while browsing the Trending section of the Store on PS4 and obviously, it's a mistake (don't expect it to be there now). Of course, Infinity Ward is at the helm for this new adventure, and they were the studio that gave the world Modern Warfare , though 2014's Advanced Warfare was created by Sledgehammer Games. Now that we have three teams trading off, CoD gets a three-year development cycle, which is undoubtedly a good thing.
Infinity Ward's last CoD title, Modern Warfare 3 , was darn good in my estimation but it'll be interesting to see what IW has up their sleeves this time around. All we really know is that Activision has called this year's CoD very "original" and gamers should expect something new.
Well, we can always use a dose of innovation in a well-established IP.
Intrresting. Im always intrigued when people find stuff like this, that is undoubtedly not meant to be there. Regarding the name I think it's a fitting name.
I'm always sold on CoD just for the sake of playing with friends if nothing else.
Minor correction: Infinity Ward's last CoD title was Ghosts and it wasn't that good, IMO :-/
Infinity War is the next Avengers movie.
Infinity war… Infinity warfare. Clever.
Now they are releasing Modern Warfare HD.
Sounds like the current state of affairs for US foreign policy.
