Just Cause 3 Contest Grand Prize: Your Very Own Island

Admit it, you've always wanted to own your own island.

This might be the ultimate prize but you're gonna have to work for it, 'cuz Square Enix and Avalanche aren't giving this away lightly.

One winner of an in-game contest for the upcoming Just Cause 3 will receive an entire island as a Grand Prize, as announced at the game's official website . However, there are several big requirements: First you must purchase the Day One Edition of the game in order to participate. Second, you have to earn the most "Chaos Points" (earned by causing destruction and mayhem in the game). Yes, the most of anyone. And you've got three months to do it, so you'd better put some serious time into the chore.

Third and finally, while the island is valued at up to $50,000, there's one big caveat:

"All taxes and fees associated with purchasing and obtaining of Island (including but not limited to attorney's fees, escrow, and closing costs) are the responsibility of the Winner. Sponsor does not guarantee the Island to be inhabitable, developed, or reachable by any means other than a boat."

Square Enix has the right to change or substitute any part of the Grand Prize, too, so you might not even get the island if you win. If you do, you can opt for the fifty grand in cash, which might not be a bad idea considering the above disclaimer. The winner will be selected at the end of March 2016; Just Cause 3 launches on December 1, 2015.

Gonna try?

Seeing as I live in Maine and we have a VERY rocky coast littered with small islands I have a general idea of how much they cost. $50K is literally going to be a tiny speck with room for maybe a small cabin or something and that's about it.

Maybe nice for a fishing get away but that's about it.

A cool concept, but I would just opt for the cash.

Way to many headaches in that disclaimer.
