If you've been enjoying the excellent Batman: Arkham Knight , you'll be happy to learn that the first story-based DLC isn't far off.
Publisher Warner Bros. has announced a July 14 release date for this first expansion, which will focus on the Batgirl character.
Called Batgirl: A Matter of Family, this DLC will cost you $6.99 but if you purchased the Arkham Knight Season Pass, it'll come to you at no extra charge. For now, this new content is only scheduled for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; there has been no confirmation of a PC version. And perhaps for good reason, as the PC iteration of the game in question has suffered through a terrible launch.
Bugs abound and developer Rocksteady is currently working on a patch, so the PC version of this DLC might be delayed for a while.
Related Game(s): Batman: Arkham Knight
This PC incident could not have come at a worst time. The last Batman game from Rocksteady, with two predecessors, not counting AO as it was dev'd by a different studio, which ran beautifully on the platform, and they had to outsource the port duty to a 3rd party. Such shame RS can't re code or compile, or whatever the process is called, the PC game from the beginning so that the game doesn't end up like Frankenstein's monster from all the patching.
Ironically enough it was the same studio that handled the PC port of AO, boy does WB games not learn from their mistakes.
While this sounds fun, I'm holding off until I have a clearer picture of how much all the combined dlc will cost without the pass, and what fraction will end up being skins or stuff I don't really need.
If it was 25 bucks like all the other passes I'd jump on it, but it's 45 here. That's getting pretty ridiculous unless there is a large volume of content.
I love this game, but the season's pass is absolutely ridiculous, 45 bucks? Just make another game.
make another game so they can charge $60??
I wanted to get the season pass but $40 is hard to justify. Better spent on a new game.
The season pass is a rip-off. it's sound like a shady business tactics from Penguin. probably WB is being run by supervillains…
I love how people keep complaining about season pass. As if they were required to purchase it…
Nope. People are annoyed because we want to buy it but it's over priced. Not because "it's as if" we're forced to buy it.
Cmon now.
I'm pretty sure thinking it isn't worth it makes it the opposite of wanting to buy it.
Actually it's not. One can still want to buy something but feel the asking price is too expensive therefore not worth it. Once the price comes down, then perhaps it will be worth it.
Example, I really want a Nissan GT-R Black Edition but the asking price of $125,000 is too much, therefore not worth it. Doesn't mean I don't still want the car.

Stick to the subject, Jawknee. We both know, unlike a car, DLC price doesn't go down with time. Maybe when there's a sale going on, and even then WB may not even want to give it a discount. The point is, you want the season pass without paying for it? Wait for the GOTY Edition to go down to whichever price you want.
It was an analogy. Yes I don't expect the price to drop on the season pass. Doesn't mean I still don't want it. Just means I'm not willing to pay $40 for it. It depends on how much one wants it. It's not black and white. One can still want to buy something but also refuse to because of price.
And I never said I wanted it for free. Just that $40 was too expensive. As did everyone else who you accused complaining for "being forced" to buy it. Which no one did. So don't put words in my or anyone else's mouth.
Dude, this isn't hard.
A more fitting analogy would be buying the car with an upgrade rather than the car itself, and saying "people complain like it's a mandatory thing" isn't putting words in people's mouths. Now if I said "people keep complaining about the price because they think it sucks" that would be putting words in people's mouths.
It's not like if you bought each piece separately wouldn't cost more. It's not like it isn't justified. Look at the situation they're in. They had to push back release date by more than half a year, which is a lot in technology time, to work out any major kinks they could find. And now they have to deal with the crappy PC port the other studio half assed and god knows how long it will take, which BTW also costs money. They aren't doing it deliberately, they're doing it to try to break even.
Actually now I'm just put off buying any dlc for this game altogether due to its out of place and needlessly frustrating batmobile bosses. Even the riddler mission uses the batmobile. In what universe is that a riddle?
If I knew this was what getting the batmobile would do to the game I would have been more like, "Please, for the love of all that's holy, just leave it out". Or you know, give me the batwing that apparently was designed to just be a delivery drone like it was made by amazon. At least I could make a clean getaway in that.
Certain elements of the story are great, but what should be the climax of the game is the most annoying part by far.
All the other Arkham games I beat on new game plus, but there's no way I'll touch it now just because of 2 horribly designed cheap as hell bosses, which are the only bosses in the game as far as I know.

I honestly don't understand the complaints about the Batmobile. The sequences are fun though maybe a little over done when battling the drones. It's a great thrill speeding down the street then launching Batman into the sky.
The point, besides the fact that it should be a nice distraction, not the focus of every main boss, is that those bosses aren't fun.
The thing handles like a wet fish on an oil slick and it's too much of a stretch for some villain who has never shown his face before, to suddenly appear with tech that makes Batman's entire multi-billion dollar arsenal look like a pea-shooter.
If I finally get the keys to a high-tech battering ram, yet consistently get stuck being the mouse to his cat, it sucks the enjoyment out of it for me.
I like, and would even love, the game itself if I got to use the batmobile when I actually wanted to, rather than it being shoe-horned into so much of the game that it displaces all the mano-e-mano bosses I was expecting.
Meant to reply to myself, but I don't know how to delete and replace it.
