Um, ok.
The blockbuster Call of Duty franchise has had its fair share of celebrity characters. But it has never boasted a professional athlete.
As revealed by ESPN , this year's highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops III will feature the likeness of Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch. He was unveiled as part of the first competitive game edition of ESPN The Magazine; it's called "The eSports Issue" and the Lynch story is called "The Whole Game is Beast Mode."
Lynch will assume the role of a mercenary in the game. Said Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg:
"Marshawn Lynch is the perfect match for Call of Duty. I mean, he's a guy who fills stadiums, crushes competitors, and has a Beast Mode. What could be more CoD than that?"
Well, just some extra star power to help the game sell a few more million copies.
