Aw man, sweet .
Journey features one of the most beautiful soundtracks in video game history. I think that goes without saying.
And if you agree, you might already own the soundtrack…but you don't have it in classic vinyl format! As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , a special vinyl version of the game's gorgeous score will release in August.
Available at iam8bit, the soundtrack that was nominated for a Grammy Award thanks to composer Austin Wintory's wonderful effort is coming very soon. They also teamed up with noted artist Mark Englert to produce an original album cover "that honors the beauty and emotional voyage that players experience when traversing the world of Journey . But wait, there's more:
As not everyone has a record player, iam8bit will expand the cover art to fit a 12 x 36-inch screen print "that's just dying to be framed and hung on your wall." They even used some specialty inks, including "pearlescent metallics," which will give the desert sand a remarkable shimmery effect.
Need to add this to your collection? Pre-orders open for both the vinyl LP and Englert's screen print on Thursday, April 23 at 10 a.m. PDT.

DAMN even the vinyl looks badass. i just might
I wonder if Spotify will add a simulated vinyl version, complete with pops and skips and other flaws of this archaic medium. "Dude, don't scratch my disc!" It's vintage man
The sound quality of records blows away most digital formats of today. Even CDs were better. They only pop and hiss if your records scratched or warped or your needle or turntable suck. And no I'm not even close to a hipster. And yes I know that's exactly what a hipster would say.
I do own the OST. Is brilliant.
Curious how many PSXers own turntables? I have one but it's packed up in the closet along with the record collection. Need to get a bigger place before I can hook it up again.
