Mass Effect 4 “Getting Real,” BioWare Montreal Hiring

If you're up for the new Mass Effect , raise your hand.

BioWare senior development director Chris Wynn says on Twitter that Mass Effect 4 is "getting real" and he needs a great online producer.

Obviously, this means the game will feature some form of online multiplayer. The correct candidate for the position in question will "create and champion the vision of the multi-player, connected experiences and online features of the game…" This is no real surprise, as ME has had multiplayer for a while. We'll just have to wait and see what they do with the latest entry, which is still very much under wraps. He also assures us that single-player will be "massive" in the next installment.

No idea what Wynn means by "getting real" but you can form your own hypotheses.

MP will and forever have no part in these types of games for me and they better not force us into it like they did with Mass Effect 3's galactic readiness bs or anything at all.

Race selection would be cool, but that could lead to the butchering of the story unless somehow they made the races actually affect your story. We can only dream

Oh boy, we are closing in on a maximum gamegasm moment. Do we sense a hint of a scent of both a new Mass Effect trilogy (I just assume it will be) *and* a new Fallout in the air? Oh yes, we do. We do.

Not excited, I didn't like the direction ME2 and 3 went with the series.

If they bring back more of its RPG roots, and exploration that ME1 had then I will give it a chance.

I don't think ME2 and 3 were bad games, just that compared to the first one they were missing that mystery, and that vast galaxy feel. Everything felt smaller in the sequels, the worlds you visited, the towns, etc.

The citadel alone in ME1 was bigger than all the cities in ME2 combined.

Anyway I will give them a chance because I did end up enjoying Inquisition even though after DA2 I swore I was done with them.

They brought RPG back aplenty in Dragon Age. Many have similar complaints as you. At this stage there's absolutely reason for optimism also regarding Mass Effect.

I agree with Dragon Age bringing back the RPG elements, although it was still less than in Origins it was a great step in the right direction and I enjoyed it a lot.

My perfect ME4 game would be the aiming from ME3 and the class specific specials, the progression from ME1 i.e. you can get overpowered if you grind, the loot from ME1 but maybe with a smoother way to get rid of junk, the exploration from ME1 which includes the MAKO re tuned for people who didn't like the controls. Lastly the character relationships from ME2, but with an overarching narrative like ME1.

New stuff I would like to see is maybe actual space combat, where you control the Normandy and fight space pirates etc. Even if its just a small part or a mini game I think that would be cool.

I would also really love it if you could pick your race, instead of having them focus on a human being the hero, make it so the story allows for any race to be the hero.

I would love to play a Drell, or Turian as my "shepard".
