Miami Hotline 2 Refused Classification By Australian Board

This probably won't come as any big surprise.

It took a while for the original to receive an MA15+ rating from the Australian Classification Board, and now it looks like the sequel won't receive any rating at all, effectively banning the game from the country.

According to Player Attack , Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number has been refused classification in the land down under, due to the fact that the title deal with "matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that they should not be classified."

Other recent games to be refused classification include Saints Row IV and South Park: Stick of Truth , although modified versions of these games eventually got the R18+ rating (the highest one available) and were released. Maybe the same thing will happen with Wrong Number but either way, gamers won't be happy.

Haha, why am I not surprised? A shame, but things are actually improving over here. It's just that things can move quite slowly down under ;).

For an ex prison colony, they have pretty strict rules.

Too bad, the original was great.
