PSXE Community Game Of The Year Has Been Decided

The community has spoken.

We gave you the chance to select the PSXE Community's Game of the Year for 2014 and the voting has now closed. In what was a closer-than-anticipated competition, Dragon Age: Inquisition eked out a victory.

Far Cry 4 landed in the runner-up position and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare came in third, just two votes ahead of the fourth place finisher, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor . If you go by our review of Inquisition , it certainly seems to be in the driver's seat for our coveted Game of the Year Award. But you never know…this was a crazy year and maybe we have a super soft place in our hearts for some other title…

Now, what's your most anticipated game of 2015? This is another award we'll hand out in our end-of-year honors; which one tops your list? Is it a PlayStation 4 exclusive like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , Bloodborne , or The Order: 1886 ? Or is it something else? Let us know.

While I expect Dragon Age, it seems like the cool thing to do right now is pick the unexpected. Gamespot surprisingly chose Shadow of Mordor. I think Ben may pick Child of Light.

I dont know if you played it or not yet but Shadow Of Mordor is my pick. My reasoning is the game – after spending 16 hours with it – is easily the best this year offered and that only puts me at 40% complete. There is a ton to do, the combat is solid and rewards people for not just button mashing, which I love. The story telling and pacing for an open world game is rather good. Plus the world of Middle – Earth is intriguing.

Keep in mind I havnt played DA. Yet which I'm sure I'll like but Shadow of Mordor is excellent.

Thanks guys. Shadow of Mordor is in my queue to play.
I'm just swamped right now with games before I can get to it.

Temjin Shadow of Mordor is amazing. I haven't been hooked by a single player game is such a long time.

It is a very gamey game if you know what I mean. It wants you to play it and experiment with all the tools it gives you.

It has well developed stealth, combat and ranged mechanics that all combine beautifully.

I have DA and I did a first 20 minutes of both games to see which one I was going to play first, I started with DA and when I switched to Shadows I well I haven't taken it out since I put it in 😛

Thanks Xenris. I look forward to it.

It's one crazy year of GotY picks

Gamespot: Shadow of Mordor
Gametrailers: Hearthstone
Eurogamer: Mario Kart 8
Polygon: Dragon Age Inquisition

I couldn't choose either because I didn't like or didn't play/finish any of the games listed. My personal 2014 GOTY comes down to either Bayonetta 2 or Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS.

My most anticipated 2015 game is Zelda Wii U of course. Followed closely by MGS5 The Phantom Pain.

I just started that one like literally not out of town yet, I have all the Atelier games but can never finish them. Was hoping this one will hold my interest more or at least longer.

You sure are dedicated to continue to buy them even though you never finish them.I think theres a good chance you'll finish this one cause is much better.

I have to go with Uncharted 4 thief's end. Ever uncharted to date has never disappointed and usually ends in a game of a year. 2nd choice would be the witcher 3 followed by the order 1886 and finally by blood borne from the makers of Demon souls series if its anything like its predecessors may be in the running for GOTY with Uncharted. I see a lot of great titles arriving in 2015 so to pick just 1 is impossible really, but i feel confident in my picks!!!

Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End is definitely my most anticipated. Easily.

I still think Borderlands The Pre-Sequel was one of this year's best despite being on last Gen consoles. But by no means goty. But considerable anyways. My GOTY is Shadow of Mordor. But once I start DA:I that could easily change.

"Middle-earth: Middle Warfare."

Not sure if you meant that, but I laughed. Totally waiting for the next COD to be called that. ANd DA:I deserves it. Great game.

I did enjoy Evil Within the most this year but… I feel I haven't played other games enough to really have a definitive GOTY so I don't have a personal GOTY. I did choose Infamous Second Son though for the poll. No idea why though

I was really hoping that Inquisition would win the reader's choice. I love that game so much.

I'm looking forward to Uncharted, Bloodborne and The Order all of which looks to be Amazing but my most anticipated are FFXV and MGSV.

Even though they're my most anticipated, I'm kind of weary about both MGSV and FFXV. MGSV with the open world aspect and FFXV just because the series has been going down hill and this was originally a planned spin off for the XIII series.

I don't think you need to worry about MGS5. I mean when has Kojima ever made a bad Playstation game?

@Jawknee
Zone of the Enders?
Never played the games but the best I have ever heard about them was that they were simply average at best on top of being fairly glitchy.

Zone of the Enders 1 had an amazing story and ZoE2 was flat out amazing in both story and gameplay. ZoE2 is one of the hidden gems of the PS2 era, among The Mark of Kri, and Freedom Fighters.

Yea the Zone of Enders games were great. Not a fan of the franchise like I am MGS but they are far from what you've heard.

i can't say i'm a not a little bit disappointed that shadow of modor isn't in 3rd its a much better game to me atleast than COD has been for a long time now as for most anticpated game of 2015 thats a really hard one actually cos there are atleast 5 games that are all about the same on my radar, theres the order bloodborne batman unchartered and the witch and it was really hard to decide but i thought just to be able to make a desicion i would have put a condition on it i decided that would be the game that i want to see the direction of the most and thats the order other wise i really couldn't decide so don't put hate on please i was hard enough to pick one game

happy gaming

Knew Dragon Age was gonna win. 2014 to me was the year of broken games. As for my most anticipated game well it has to be batman arkham knight

I choose infamous second son, looks like I just the minority here…

I chose inFamous:SS because I played three games on the list and it was the better of the three.

I'm looking forward to MGS5 and Uncharted 4, but MGS5 is my most anticipated because it's been a while since MGS4 released.

I'm still fully expecting Kojima to announce a delay "2015" was just to generic a release date for me.
But hopefully we get it this year with a Ground Zeroes bundle!

I had to stop playing DAI, it was just too tiresome and dreadfully boring. The characters all suck, where's the camaraderie of Origins? Where's the story and its dramatic pacing? All flushed for a little more openness in the world.

Most anticipated: The Order of course! It's gonna blow folks away now that they're expectations are low.

My most anticipated for 2015 would have to be Bloodborne followed by The Order, I already know Uncharted will be Uncharted so don't think it's anything to get too worked up over because it's essentially a sure thing for the game of the year running.

No Man's Sky still looks super interesting but the lack of in-game chat really put me off.

My most anticipated would have easily been The Division but ever since Ubisoft sided with Microsoft after the developers themselves had been saying for months they much prefered the PS4 and that was the console they were primarily focusing on I have been worried.
There was a noticeable decrease in the graphics at the e3 Xbox showcase compared to all the other times they had shown it. Then we have the timed DLC and exclusive content so yeah I am just fully annoyed. =
As for GoTY DA:I seems like the well deserved winner I almost grabbed it when it was on sale through the PSN but I just don't have time to pick up a nearly 200hr RPG right now.

My most anticipated game is a complete tie between Bloodborne and The Witcher 3. I'm going to get The Order because I suspect its going to be a flawed gem but worth a play anyway. Uncharted and MGS I am not anticipating them because I know what I'm getting with those games. They will be good but they probably wont be revolutionary unless MGS5 does something really different. I think I'm most excited for Metal Gear Online to be honest. Loved the first one.

Shadows of Mordor is my GOTY. I haven't played too much of DA, but thats because the first 20 minutes of the game didn't hook me like Shadows did. I know RPGs take a while to get rolling but if they are set up well they can pull you in immediately. DA didn't although I will play it after Shadows.

Shadows just is such a gamey game, it wants you to play it, and it plays so very well. There is so much stuff to do and collect in the game, and so many ways to approach the missions it is just so easy to get lost in it.

The nemesis system is by far the coolest thing to be put into a game in some time. There are some problems with it sure but man I can see amazing potential for that system if they build upon it for their next game.

Haven't commented in a long while as I've been kinda staying away from all the PS4 stuff. Of course, it's all about the PS4 nowadays. So, I now have my very own PS4 as of New Years Eve.

Well, the game I'm most anxious for is hands down No Man's Sky. No question. The developers over there at Hello Games seem so passionate about this project. I just want to give them all my monies. Happy New Year everyone!

PSN is Zemus101 if anyone is interested in adding.
