Ben-DutkaSquare Enix might announce a new console RPG very soon.
This according to Gematsu citing the latest Famitsu issue, in which Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda offered the following teaser:
"Actually, right now, we're working on a new RPG specifically for consoles and it isn't a remake. We'll start talking about it more in December and go from there."
It's feasible that Square Enix could reveal the mystery project at either the 2014 Video Game Awards or during Sony's PlayStation Experience. Both events will be held early next month so maybe we don't have long to wait before laying eyes on Square Enix's latest. However, there's always the possibility that the publisher won't announce anything until next year.
As for me, if it isn't a remake, I doubt I'll care. Square Enix can only make good games if they're building on Squaresoft's genius.
Bravely Default is a very awesome game from Square. Hopefully, they can build on that. If it's a game from Tri Ace that would be phenomenal. I'm hoping for the best.
Thus perpetuating the belief that their only good rpgs are on handhelds.
It's a game based on previously established Squaresoft mechanics, as I said.
I will always have hope.
Maybe they should release the games that they've already announced before announcing new ones.

SE needs to put the Dragon Quest 1-3 remakes on the PSN network. Like right now. They even use the name Erdrick instead of that stupid Loki name for it.

Who cares what Square Enix does nowadays? certainly not me.
I am so ridiculously excited for this to come out on PS4.
I hope its in the style of Bravely Default. They proved to themselves almost by accident that there is still a rabid fan base for turn based RPGS.
I would love a nice HD RPG on my PS3 or PS4 that had a good solid fast paced turn based system, like FF7 or FF9.
I hope it will be an exclusive title for PSV and not PS4. Jrpg are better on handheld consoles these days.

Hopefully they do keep to the bravely default model since their prior attempts last gen make me reluctant to want any of SE's originality.
