We Are Doomed: A Twin-Stick Shooter With A Twist

These twin-stick shooters have enjoyed quite the resurgence in recent years.

As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , the latest is We Are Doomed , in development at Vertex Pop and scheduled to land on the PlayStation 4 in "early 2015." It'll come to the Vita soon after.

With bright, vivid visuals, this one forces you to get up-close-and-personal because you've got a laser with limited range. This is a twist on the standard formula, where you're typically trying to stay as far away as possible from the enemies. In this case, you can retreat to a safe distance and use a supercharged beam, but only in emergency situations. They describe the game as "designed to make throwing yourself into danger and dashing across the arena to collect Trinkets (the purple cubes) pay off."

It should make for a pretty intense experience, wouldn't you say?
