Grand Theft Auto V PS4 vs. PS3 Comparison Video

What a difference a year makes.

Grand Theft Auto V was an amazing game when it launched in 2013. But in less than two weeks, it's going to get even…amazinger.

Just check out this new comparison video, which shows off the differences between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Rockstar's blockbuster. There are some extremely significant technical upgrades, and this doesn't even include all the extra content and features that are going to take center-stage in the fresh iteration. It's a fantastic upgrade the whole way 'round and even if you've already finished the game, you might be tempted to pick it up again.

Me, I'm actually glad I never finished. Now I have a perfect excuse to play this .

Haven't played GTAV yet. Looks like waiting for it to come to PS4 was a wise choice.

Have finally cracked and have a PS4 in the post. Woo Hoo!!!

I too waited and didn't play PS3 version.
Was worth it! Now we will get a Definitive Edition 🙂

To me this is more about how amazing they were able to manage on the PS3, as naught dog and PD have.

A year didn't make a difference in this case Ben. Transition to PS4 did.
To be honest the PS4 version in some scenes looks more…. foggy. One scenes have greyer nights then PS3 (outside city), while other – in the city – are darker. There is certainly more details though.
Curse me but is also draw distance more blurry?
I'm guessing it's the difference between TV's or time in the game when it was shot.

I still remember back when the first comparison videos popped up, there were those who questioned the difference, defending the ps3 version with "it wasn't the exact same shots", like they needed a pixel-by-pixel comparison.

Rarely have I ever been more happy about waiting with a purchase. This is the real GTA5, the way it was meant to be.

I wish I'd had your discipline! I played through it and grew rather tired of it by the end. This looks amazing enough that I may have to revisit it, though.

As much as I enjoyed and still enjoy playing GTA5, I am glad that I played it for PS3.

Why? I would have ignored the game and spent my time playing Far Cry 4. Surely, I am not the only one excited for Far Cry based on this week's poll.

It does look like a bit of an improvement, but I still remember it well enough that I can hold off a long time til it, eventually, gets cheap.
The 1rst person mode seems kind of cool, but it's harder to weave through traffic that way.
Still no using your own music for the radio. That would have put it over the top.

Wow!! Rockstar is putting their foot into making this GTA much better than the previous version! They're definitely setting a standard that needs to be met by other companies entertaining the idea of cross-generation games.
