The Crew Pushed Back Three Weeks

In a year loaded with delays, this one's not so bad.

In fact, it frees up November just a bit. Ubisoft has announced that their anticipated racer, The Crew , has been moved from November 11 to December 2.

The game went through a series of recent beta testing and apparently, that's what prompted the delay. In a statement, the publisher offered this explanation:

"The extra time will allow for a second closed console beta to be held, giving even more players the opportunity to experience the game, which is something the community has been requesting. Like the betas held previously, valuable player feedback and other essential information will be gathered, further enhancing the experience."

The game is currently in a closed beta on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; this comes after the PC beta, which occurred earlier. Creative director Julian Gerighty said they remain committed to "delivering a revolutionary experience in the driving genre" and while that's a bold claim, the game does have a huge amount of potential. Anyone remember Smuggler's Run ? I want another one of those, too.

They delayed it so they can downscale the resolution to match the xbox one;s 900p. respect completely lost for Ubisoft, no more purchases from me.

They downscaled the res for AC Unity on the ps4 to match the one on the xbox "to stop the debate"

Whatever, idiots.

Good to hear the beta was absolutely atrocious by far the worst I have ever been in on both console and PC it felt like an Alpha not a beta for a game that will launch within a month.

The Beta completely bricked my PS4 5 times requiring me to turn off the surge protector and rebooting into safe mode.
Crashed an uncountable number of times.
Numerous Graphical glitches.
One gameplay breaking glitch that required a reset.
Got stuck in objects many times.
Kept getting put into sessions with no other players.
Not a bug but VERY few songs on the radio.
Insane physics after hitting a rock or similar object that would send my car spinning and flying into the air for a good 15 seconds.

Probably more I could list but you likely all get the point this game in no way shape or form is ready to launch and hopefully this delay can help Ubisoft put a lot more polish into it.

Yes I agree the driving in the crew was ridiculous sadly, I will not be purchasing this at launch, considering this was THE one game I bought ps4 for/looking forward to. Very much not happy with the game pre-order canceled after the beta 🙁
