Final Fantasy VII Finally Remade…Inside Sackboy’s Universe

We all know Square Enix will never give it to us.

So, one fan just decided to make it himself: It's Final Fantasy VII remade inside the wonderfully creative and customizable LittleBigPlanet universe. And it's amazing .

As reported by The Escapist , hardcore FFVII fan Jamie Colliver just finished up this unique remake; it took him two years and spanned LBP2 and LBP3. The final result is a new version of the iconic RPG split across 31 LBP levels and this includes "every" cut-scene and dialogue sequence, along with every character and boss. Hell, he even put in all five materia types, FFVII's soundtrack and an adapted battle system that somehow recreates the game's combat!

This just can't be missed.

There is nothing wrong with this article. I am glad he posted this. I will be checking this out for sure. FFVII is up there with Mario bros 3 as legend games. If you don't appreciate them, let those of us that do. Dude spent 2 years, must meant something to him.

The topic will never be played out as long as FFVII rests at the top of the best games ever made category and the huge fan base wants the project. It goes to relevance.

I'm watching Advent Children: Complete right now. To think this and Crisis Core is the closest we have so far. Or at least from Square. The fan base is apparently doing a better job now.

Good for him, what dedication to his opus. Now if only Square Enix had that dedication for… well anything.

Kudos to him and his dedication, but I really wish people would leave FF VII alone. It's a classic. We get it. But it wasn't really that great of a game aside from the technical aspects at the time.

It is an epic game with a fantastic story. Some parts are slow but when you get deep into the game with your air ship and a full roster it's amazing. It just takes to long for twitch gamers to get to that point.

Respectfully disagree. I've replayed several 'Final Fantasy' titles since 'XIII' was released, and 'VIII' was the only one I found I didn't enjoy as much as the last time I played it. 'VI' and 'VII' especially have maintained their high quality, in my opinion.

yeah Geo, look at the heap for best games ever made. FFVII is often at the top, not for nothing.

I have to disagree with all of you. FF VII was good when it released, and I played the heck out of it just like everybody else. But what really made it great was the technical achievements of the game. The first FF to be on discs. The first FF to be in 3D. The first FF to have a real orchestral soundtrack. The first FF to have real CG cutscenes. But as a game, it just wasn't as great as FF VI was before it. It's one that I can't go back to play anymore as it just doesn't enthrall me enough to play whenever I have tried in the past. I still prefer it over FF VIII as that one is still the worst in the franchise as far as I'm concerned. Was FF VII a good game, yes. Is it one of the best ever, no, far from it. It deserves praise from what it brought to the RPG genre at the time, but not much else beyond that.

I dunno, man… I can see why some people might enjoy 6 better since it's no slouch, either. But I'm not sure I could possibly understand how someone cannot see just how brilliant VII is in every aspect. It's sort of one of those games that even if you don't enjoy that kind of game, you have to give it a slow approving nod. Especially when you consider the intense amount of variety it has that, I believe, no game before or since has ever matched. Some games there's a ton to do, sure, but I'm talking variety. It's just ultra-complete… Aside from the unfinished technical side of the graphics.

Wait how did it take 2 years and span lbp2 and lbp3 when lbp3 comes out today?

good question, maybe he has inside juice. Or maybe it will just upgrade right to LBP3 and be released on the network same day.

Wow, that looks awesome. Kudos to the guy who made. His dedication and effort really shows!

I think doing something like this is a great addition to his resume, for when he applies for a job at some game studio.

Proof that once again Little Big Planet is a failure. The only way for any creation to stand out is to feed of the popularity of a successful franchise. Why would I want to experience the game this way when I can just play the original. I understand the dedication but I really do not see the purpose of this.

It's called art and creativity.
It's like saying LEGO is a failure because it's used to build something that's awesome and already exists elsewhere.

I think we can all agree that the hard work and dedication required to make this is amazing, regardless of your feelings on the subject of a ff7 remake.
