Kevin Spacey for Call of Duty was quite a coup.
Hollywood actors haven't been strangers to video games but in recent years we've seen a full blown invasion of them. They come in various forms. Keifer Sutherland has picked up the voice of Snake as you all know, joining the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Liam Neeson, Eliza Dushku and others as voice only actors.
A newer trend has been to fully digitize the actors to trade on their celebrity. The aforementioned Kevin Spacey has gone that route. The cast of Heavy Rain has as well. Those folks may not have been well known Hollywood types but they were recognizable for some.
In fact Quantic Dream's David Cage has always been enamored with this scene, he talks about it often. David Bowie may have been better known for his music than acting but I distinctly recall how he was put forward as a headliner in Omikron: The Nomad Soul . Mr. Bowie even had a little music video in that game which was cool for the times. Later on Beyond: Two Souls brought Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe to life in two great roles.
So who would go great with the kinds of games Quantic Dream makes? It's difficult to cast for a game that we know nothing about but it's not a bad blank slate to suggest actors that we think just plain belong in games. If there is in fact a Dark Sorcerer aside from the old man in the tech demo I think Gandalf himself Ian McKellen would be great. A lot of folks wanted to see Nathan Fillion in a live action Uncharted , but wouldn't he be great in any video game calling for a snarky hero? Games always get flack for not representing women realistically, maybe a digital version of Natalie Portman or Angelina Jolie in a big role would be on order.
Anything's possible really, even resurrecting deceased legends as we recently saw with Bruce Lee in EA's UFC game. Who would you like to see in Quantic Dream's new game or really any game?
James Franco and Seth Rogen, naturally.
Hehe Double D Nelson. Anywho, that's kind of a hard question. Whoever they pick If they don't do the whole digitization, which is pretty much what they're for, then it would have to be actors who are really talented. Maybe someone like Johnny Depp, That man has quite the range, Edward Norton, Gary Oldman, etc.
The point is we could throw out names left and right but there's always going to be a good percentage that won't like them for some odd reason. There is also the possibility that if they throw a bunch of money at the talent then some other part of the production will suffer(gameplay anyone?).
Find someone with Double D's?
I'm not a big enough movie guy to list a bunch of actors by name.
I do know ones I wouldn't want to see.
Let's start with Shia BaBeouf.
Mark Walberg or his funky bunch.
The guy who played Anakin in Star Wars (both of them)
ooh, I like Liam Neeson. He's a good pick for a Quantic Dream game. Make him like a detective or something.
EDIT: I like Christian Bale too. He could be in the game.

I crave to see a Dark Knight movie with Depp as the Riddler. I felt like they needed a little more interaction between Bale and Depp in Public Enemies.
Amber Heard
Olivia Wilde
Kevin Bacon
Johnny Depp
Sandra Bullock
And many more. Everyone.
Depp belongs with us in a big way.
Like any casting decision, it depends on the story and who can bring the charisma necessary to the performance. Ellen Page was a brilliant choice for Jodie as she is has a lot of experience playing teenage roles with quirky attitudes. If I knew much about the project, then I would be able to have more of a thought about who would be suitable for which role.
Nicolas Cage
yes
depends on the genre obviously.
some actors would lend themselves better to certain genres, and some they would not suit at all.
could you imagine elen page playing the role of a serial killer?
exactly.
that said though i would say no big famous actors.
did elen bring anything to beyond 2 souls?
not for me at all, i connected and believed and cared for heavy rains actors far more than elens character.
having a experienced actress may help with the motion capture, but im not convinced how much that would benefit, especially put up against the costs.
im sure hiring elen for beyond cost a heck of allot more than hell probably ALL the people for heavy rain!
id much rather see the money going into things which will really improve the game, things which offer good value for money.
not spend 500% to improve the game 1%, when you could spend 100% and improve the game 2%.
im just not convinced spending massive bucks on big name actors or actresses is worth the cost.
